04Is Nuri suitable for pregnancy?

Nuri [Her] is formulated for preconception, pregnancy and postpartum by fertility nutritionist Grace Armstrong, and is TGA-listed (AUST L 522592).

Warnings

  • Vitamins and minerals can only be of assistance if dietary intake is inadequate, and should not replace a balanced diet.
  • Advise your doctor of any medicine you take during pregnancy, particularly in your first trimester.
  • If you have pre-existing thyroid conditions, seek advice from your medical practitioner before taking this medicine.
  • If you are concerned about the health of yourself or your baby, talk to your health practitioner.
  • Contains zinc, which may be dangerous if taken in large amounts or for a long period.
  • Contains selenium, which is toxic in high doses. A daily dose of 150 micrograms for adults from dietary supplements should not be exceeded.
  • Contains vitamin B6. Stop taking this medicine if you experience tingling, burning or numbness and see your healthcare practitioner as soon as possible.

Folate supports healthy foetal development and DNA synthesis from preconception through pregnancy. Nuri uses methylfolate, the active form your body can absorb and use straight away, rather than synthetic folic acid which requires conversion.

CHOLINE [600 MG]

Choline plays a central role in your baby's brain and nervous system development throughout pregnancy. Nuri delivers 600mg per day, the highest dose available in any Australian prenatal, to provide meaningful support where it counts most.

WHEN SHOULD I START TAKING THIS?

Ideally at least 3 months before trying to conceive. Your body needs time to build folate stores, and your baby's neural tube starts developing before most women even know they're pregnant. If you're already pregnant, start now.

WHY METHYLFOLATE INSTEAD OF FOLIC ACID?

Methylfolate is the active form of folate your body can absorb and use directly. Folic acid is synthetic and requires conversion in the body, a process that isn't equally efficient for everyone. Methylfolate removes that step entirely.
WHY IS CHOLINE INCLUDED, AND HOW MUCH DOES IT HAVE?
